Google will finally launch its first foldable smartphone on May 10th. The Pixel Fold, as it will be called, had already been mentioned in rumors and leaks, but now the company has confirmed the news through an invitation sent to the press.
The event will be held online and will begin at 1 pm ET (2 pm BRT). In addition to Pixel Fold, Google is expected to announce other news related to the Pixel line, such as a new smartwatch and updates to the Pixel Buds headphones.
The Pixel Fold is expected to have a similar design to Samsung’s Galaxy Fold, with a large foldable screen on the inside and a smaller external display when the device is closed. The device is expected to run on the latest version of Android and have high-end specifications, such as a Snapdragon 888 processor and up to 12 GB of RAM.
The price and availability of the Pixel Fold have not yet been revealed, but it is expected to be more expensive than the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, which were launched last year. The device will also face competition from other foldable smartphones on the market, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Motorola Razr 5G.
